Eraserhead(1976) - 10/10 stars
Eraserhead is a movie that I could watch over and over but probably shouldn't. Of David Lynch's films, I would describe this one as his best but also his hardest watch and most disturbing. Jack Nance does a perfect job at the playing the main character. While I would recommend this one, I would recommend that most of you only see it once.
Machete(2010) - 8/10 stars
Robert Rodriguez is, in my opinion, one of the most overrated directors in film today. Of his movies, there has only been one that I enjoyed and that was Sin City. However, it seems that are two now. Machete was great. It has the feel of a 70's exploitation film and everything that goes along with that. You definitely need to check this one out.
Piranha 3-D(2010) - 2/10
This sad excuse for a remake should have been fun to watch to at least laugh at its flaws. This was not the case at all. Alexandre Aja has the disturbing factor down pat but his ability to follow the storyline is completely lacking to the point of almost being pathetic. I would at least wait till this one hits video stores before you go and see it.
Devil(2010) - 10/10 stars
Devil is very possibly the best film of the year though it will not be recognized as such on a larger scale. The great thing about this film is it brings simplicity back into the movies. Our culture has become so ADD that movies like Rope and Rear Window that take place in one room have been forgotten. This picture brings that style back and I sure as hell hope it catches on. Kudos to M. Night Shyamalan for writing an original story, something that no one else in this day and age seems to be able to do.
