e most horror sequels, this one has been smothered in bad
reviews and holds a mostly unfavorable reputation. I honestly don’t think it’s that terrible. Yes, it’s a far cry from its predecessor but
it is a completely different film and has a fairly different tone that works.
A new family, the Montelli’s move into the Amityville house. When the mother recruits the local priest to
bless the house, they realize not everything is at it seems. This results in the demonic possession of
their teenage son. The priest becomes
the family’s only hope.
This isn't the best horror movie or even the best horror
sequel ever but it’s not as bad as its reputation would suggest. It’s different enough from the original to be
engaging and it’s similar enough to be part of the series. I might just be crazy, so see for yourself!
7/10 stars.
